Ceri Evans, 44, is our latest member from Swansea in South Wales. He joins us at Code A Weld as a welding inspector, and he has an impressive educational and work background behind him.
Ceri possesses a Bachelor of Engineering (honours) degree, a Higher National Certificate in Civil Engineering and in Mechatronics. He has previously worked as a welding co-ordinator and CE Marking Manager before taking up his current role.
'I feel very relaxed here,’ Ceri says. In fact, he has known many of the inspectors at Code A Weld for years so the transition has been an easy one for him, even though the job itself comes with its set of challenges.
'The work involves long hours, but I'm enjoying it very much. The challenges that I face on a daily basis in work is the amount of information I have to take in during my training. I was not aware of the level of training required to fulfil the role', he says.
The Good Bits
‘The best thing about working with Code A Weld is that everyone is willing to help if I have any questions (which I do regularly). It definitely feels like I’m part of a team which is a good feeling.'
Outside of work, you would find Ceri visiting his caravan on the Gower Coast near Swansea and walking his two Labradors.
